In a transformational design and fit-out over 11 floors in New York City’s newest neighborhood, Hudson Yards, L’OREAL’s new headquarters celebrates the cosmetic company’s diverse brands while helping it transition to a high-performance and more fluid work process to support a broader range of delivery formats. The comprehensive brand positioning and environmental graphics program unifies the L’OREAL’s identity within the public spaces, while allowing each brand to express itself within its own workspace.
Davella Studios provided programming and strategic planning to help identify the level of staff amenity for L’OREAL’s new offices. Working directly with both L’OREAL’s corporate services group and Gensler throughout the design process, we positioned all staff amenities on the 36th floor to take advantage of the unique views and west-facing outdoor terrace. The amenity floor includes three distinct dining options; a 200-seat full-service cafeteria for all employees known as Le Café, a full-service juice and espresso bar with access to the terrace and a 70-seat executive dining room.
Featuring several large cooking island platforms, the food hall emphasizes from-scratch cooking to engage customers, reinforce the farm-to-fork market driven menu and allow for guest interaction and customization. A testament to Davella Studios’ culinary design approach, Le Café has exceeded L’OREAL’s expectations and serves more customers today then at their previous midtown location.
