NANTUCKET CULINARY CENTER

The Nantucket Culinary Center was the idea of ReMain Nantucket’s founder and director of The Schmidt Family Foundation, Wendy Schmidt. The rationale behind this project stems from the core mission of ReMain Nantucket, that focusses on economic, social and environmental vitality of downtown Nantucket, and the desire to activate a prominent, yet currently “dark” corner in the town’s landscape. The Center stresses local opportunities to understand food products from seed to table, working with local aquaculture efforts, commercial fishermen, community and commercial farms, and cranberry bogs.
